FAQ
Do I need to bring my own FD-258 card?
+
Yes, if possible. Please bring the fingerprint card provided by your employer, agency, attorney, or requesting organization. Many agencies require their specific card or pre-filled information, so bringing the original card helps ensure your fingerprints are accepted.
If you were not provided a card, AP&J Fingerprinting & Identity Services can supply official FD-258 fingerprint cards for your appointment.
What if my prints get rejected?
+
We use proper rolling technique to minimize rejection risk. Note that some individuals have naturally difficult-to-capture prints — common in older adults, manual laborers, and those who work with chemicals. This cannot always be resolved by re-rolling. Contact us if your prints are rejected and we'll discuss next steps.
How many cards do I need?
+
Most agencies request 2 cards. International and adoption cases sometimes require 3–5. Check with your requesting agency before booking — we can roll multiple cards in a single appointment.
Can you fingerprint multiple employees at once?
+
Yes. Group appointments for employers, licensing boards, and organizations are available. Contact us for group pricing and scheduling coordination.
How long does the appointment take?
+
A standard appointment takes approximately 15–30 minutes depending on the number of cards needed. Group appointments take longer we'll give you a time estimate when you book.
